I can vividly remember when this same relative gave my mother a very cheap bottle of fragrance perfume. To be honest I think it was a knock-off of a designer fragrance perfume that she had bought at the flea market in the town I was born in. This particular bottle of fragrance perfume had a pungent aroma reminiscent of cat urine. I can remember my mother saying she wished the relative in question would not have bothered buying her a gift at all. 
I think that this childhood memory has made me very cautious about buying fragrance perfume gifts for others. I will only buy good quality fragrance perfume that has a genuine designer label for my friends and loved ones because I would hate anybody to think of me as being tightfisted. I still save money because I buy discount perfume online. Hence I get the best bottles of fragrance perfume for less but my friends and relatives still think me generous and giving.
